Shipley Country Park, Slack Lane,
Heanor, DE75 7GX
The Shipley estate is an ancient manor mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086), when it was recorded as belonging to Gilbert of Ghent, the nephew of William the Conqueror. Shipley Country Park is owned and operated by Derbyshire County Council. You can find out more at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/shipley
The main entrance to Shipley Country Park is Well Signposted from Derby Road (A608) and from the motorway, M1 junction 26.
To avoid congestion we advise all visitors driving to Shipley Park to drive through the industrial estate, as Thorpes Road leading to Slack Lane can be very narrow.
